IN THE MOVIE CAST AWAY, WILSON THE VOLLEYBALL HAD ACTUAL SCRIPTED LINES.

cast away
If you’ve ever seen Cast Away, you’re probably familiar with Wilson, the only volleyball to ever make you cry (myself included).
The movie is about a FedEx executive who finds himself stranded on a deserted island and forces himself to survive with little more than the FedEx packages that crashed with him.

To keep himself from going insane, early on in the film he takes a Wilson brand volleyball and has regular "conversations" with it (these conversations were just him having a dialogue with no audible response).

To help Tom Hanks better perform in the role, there were actual lines for what Wilson was saying in response to Hanks’ character. After a failed suicide attempt, Hanks’ character leaves the island on a raft.

This shortly results in one of the most memorable film scenes from 2000, in which Wilson drifts away from the raft following a storm, and Hanks’ character is unable to retrieve him.
