Interview with said runner

Interviewer - A week after the race people are still talking about mikael ekvall. the question is if it was an achievment or just craziness to run covered in poo.

Mikael - there's not so much to do about it, you just do it?

Interviewer - did you ever think about quitting the race?

Mikael - no.. well I thought about it, but it wasn't on the map to actually do it.

Interviewer - but honestly, how much fun was it to run down the street covered in poo?

Mikael - it wasn't fun, but once you've won a race you know the feeling and you want to get that feeling again, it's a simple as that.

Interviewer - 18 year old Mikael runs for Strömstads idrottsklubb and this was his second marathon. It was after only a few miles he felt the food problems. Did you ever consider stopping to clean off?

Mikael - No, I'd lose time.

Interviewer - Where did you get this winner instinct?

Mikael - I don't know. Maybe from my dad and my coach. They are really tough and I want to be like them.

Interviewer - Mikael finished in 1.09.41 and ended up in an admireable 21st place. This weekend he tried out for the world cup in his age group and qualified. And he won't quit that race either.

Mikael - if you quit once it's easy to do it again and again and again. It becomes a habit. You quit for smaller reasons. I think.

Interviewer - Would you do the same thing again?

Mikael - yeah, if I had to.
