HIGH HEELS WERE ORIGINALLY CREATED FOR MEN
High Heels (A shoe where the heel is at a significantly higher level then the toe of the shoe).
The famous species of shoe which is common among women and famous for creating the whoops walk. Was designed in the 1500's for male soldiers to help keep their feet in the holsters on horses.

The use of heels soon after its invention became the normal standard fashion for men in the 1500's. The term "well- heeled" came from this era meaning one who could afford the more costlier heel. This trend for men continued until the French revolution then continued to bounce back in and out into modern times.

The first official recorded instance of a person wearing heels was not in fact a man at all but a woman. But it was well after the shoe was invented. This record was from 1533 involving the marriage between Catherine De' Medini and the Duke of Orleans. She wore heels made in Florence and it soon flourished in France of women wearing Italian heels.

Its not 100% clarified although whether the Egyptians had originally designed the heel or if it was in Europe. What causes the confusion is their is existing Egyptian art which contains men and women in heels. It was commonly known in the 1500's also that Egyptian butchers wore heels so they could avoid stepping in offal.

Even though the world would like to believe heels were designed and used for women, the theory simply isn't true. Heels are common among men in todays era in mainly the western world, including Europe and North America. Their also exists a male high heeled dance shoe called Cuban heel or Latin heeled shoe.

Many problems can although result from wearing high heeled shoes.

Some of these common issues are of the following:

- foot pain

- cause deformities such as hammertoe and bunions

- inability to run

- tendon issues

- podiatrists comment 75% of their jobs are due to high heel wearers.
