For years and years the apple has been recognized as the nature's remedy for all diseases and so in the school we were taught that "AN APPLE A DAY
IS SEVEN APPLES A WEEK" (Joke. I know it's AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY).
What most of us didn’t know was that it could actually rival and beat caffeine in its power to keep us awake. New research has proved that apples not only keeps your body healthy and nearly immune to flu and fever, it also helps you stay awake longer than a cup of coffee.
After reading that most of you will think apples might contain some values of caffeine in it, well in reality it does not have even a single unit of it. So what keeps us awake you ask? Well according to research, the natural sugars that apples have is the reason why our body keeps awake. The glucose content in the fruit is slowly digested into our bodies, and for as long as it is being digested, we remain awake.
Apples may not be the best choice for coffee drinkers to replace their favorite pass time activity, but it definitely has proven to be better in keeping you awake. So next time if you feel like staying awake to study or prepare that assignment, keep in mind your dear friend apple which will surely work better than any form of caffeine you consume. And if you don’t want to stay awake, remember that the high content of fiber in an apples also helps you stay less hungry, which means it’s also an excellent snack for dieters!
